Explanation of stereotyping

Stereotyping is to believe, think, or say groups of people are the same even when they are not.

My first example of stereotyping is girls have to play netball and boys have to play rugby. I disagree because lots of boys play netball and lots of girls play rugby. Generally girls would play netball but that doesn't mean anyone can stop a boy from playing.

My second example is girls are weak boys are strong. I disagree because lots of girls practice lifting heavy weights for ages so they can achieve things. Generally boys would be stronger but lots of girls go to the Olympics for weightlifting.

My third example is boys smell bad and girls smell good. I disagree because lots of people like to get dirty. Generally people don't like to get dirty but that doesn't mean you don't have to.

Overall I believe stereotyping is rude, unfair and people shouldn't do it. The challenge for people is to  never judge a book by it's cover.
